The Shepherd’s Guild was chartered on September 30, 1999. The Guild organized The Anderson Greek Festival for 13 years (2006 to 2018), the Guild is replacing the Festival with the Mediterranean Food Fete.
A Mediterranean food event operated by The Shepherd’s Guild, a 501c3 nonprofit service organization of Eastern Orthodox. Hospitality is an important thing in the Mediterranean culture and in the South; therefore, we are delighted to present the Mediterranean Food Fete, a community event for all. The Fete will take place September 13, 14 & 15 at the Civic Center of Anderson. The Fete proceeds to benefit outreach causes and a Greek Orthodox monastery in the Holy Land.
This will be the 14th annual community event though we have a name change. The new event name is based on the composition of our workforce and to promote a respect for diversity while fostering our Mediterranean-Greek cuisine. This year’s theme is “bringing people together through good food and music.” — The mission of the event is φιλοξενία and service (stewardship). I would like to thank our volunteers and sponsors who help make the Festival (Fete) take place.
